| Clubs | Midwestern States Ski, snowboard and snowshoe clubs are a great way to meet new friends and save money on trips. Many clubs have other sports or social activities and meet year-round. Illinois Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC) This council coordinates activities and communication between 97 clubs in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and central Canada. Michigan Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council MDSC has existed since 1955 and is the umbrella organization for nearly40 ski clubs in Michigan, Canada and Ohio. The clubs welcome downhill skiers,snowboarders, and cross-country enthusiasts. Most clubs are active year round. Ford Thunderbird Ski Club Dearborn — This club celebrated its 50th anniversary in the year2000. With about 1,700 members, it has a ton of trips and activities, including its own ski and snowboard school with PSIA-certified instructors Kazooski Ski Club Kalamazoo Minnesota Minnesota Ski Council A council of 22 ski clubs in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. University of Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Club Missouri Gateway Ski Club We are an open club in St. Louis with about 700 members. Our primary focus is a trip to the Alps each year for a week of skiing and then a side trip of about three days to some interesting non-ski destination. We have no dues; and we do other trips to unusual destinations, mostly in Canada or the Far West. Kansas City Ski Club Shawnee Mission, KS Show-Me Skiers First African-American ski club of St. Louis. Ohio Cleveland Metro Ski Council The Cleveland Metro Ski Council (CMSC) is an umbrella organization comprised over 26 ski clubs representing more than 8,000 skiers in northeast Ohio. While CMSC member clubs hail from as far west as Sandusky, east to Warren,Youngstown, and Erie Pa., and south to Akron/Wooster, the majority of CMSC clubs are concentrated in the Greater Cleveland area. We are non-profit and family friendly. Milton Heights Racing Club This club, based at the Glen Eden Ski area in Milton, Ontario, has ski and snowboard racing, both a house league and travel teams for all ages. North Toronto Ski Club Membership offers lessons in downhill, boarding and cross-country on its day trips. With more than 30 qualified instructors, lessons are available for all levels.
