Join the SNOW FUN during Learn a Snow Sport Month

January was Learn a Snow Sport Month at alpine resorts, Nordic centers, state and national parks all over the U.S. Come out and play on the snow while learning an activity that will last a lifetime.

Resorts in twenty-three states are offering special learn to alpine ski and snowboard packages including: California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Northern Minnesota, Southern Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. On January 10 the annual Winter Trails event at more than 80 locations offers free snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing. Offerings vary so check out the venue nearest you for details.

Winter Trails, an annual learn to snowshoe and cross country ski day held on January 10, 2009, is free at participating venues.More than 80 locations in North America will host a Winter Trails event and offers vary depending on the location.

Michigan Snowsports Industries Association
Learn to snowboard or ski, affordably!

Discover Michigan Skiing has run every January for the past 15 years, and includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a beginner-area ski lift pass or cross-country trail pass.  Twenty-four ski facilities are offering the package, which will be honored from January 5 through January 31, 2009.  The price for the Discover Michigan Skiing program - downhill or cross-country skiing - is $30 for adults and $25 for children seven to 14 years old.  The snowboard price is $40, for everyone 10 years and older. find out more...

Midwest Ski Areas Association

Blue Angels Youth Ski & Snowboard Program offers a comprehensive 5 Saturday ski or snowboard learning program for children and teens (7-16) in California.
